Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A steel sculpture by Clemens Hutter

The artwork created in 2016 by the sculptor, who lives in Wunsiedel, is on loan to the Kunstverein Hof e.V.

Hutter's "Ice Cube" consists of twelve millimeter thick welded steel plates with an edge length of one meter. To give the cube its current shape, the artist filled it with water. At minus 18 degrees in the cooling chamber, the resulting ice bent the steel and burst open one of the weld seams. The cube weighs 800 kilograms, the sculpture including the granite base 1.5 tons.
